Thousands of Islamists Return to Egypt: What's Next?
Thousands of Islamic leaders are headed back to Egypt after learning their names were removed from a "wanted" list developed by Egyptian security forces.
The Egyptian newspaper Al Masry Al Youmis reported that Ibrahim Ali estimated 3,000 members of Jama'a al-Islamiya and other Egyptian Islamic jihad groups are set to return to Egypt in the next few days.
Ali is an Egyptian lawyer who has worked with several Islamist groups.
"They are coming back from Afghanistan, Chechnya, Bosnia, Somalia, Kenya, Iran and London," he said.
Several Islamists have already expressed their glee over the recent unrest in Arab nations like Egypt. So, what influence could they have on the so-called Arab Spring?
